APE Teacher - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Adaptive Physical Education Teacher position is available in Ypsilanti, MI, serving elementary and middle school students. This role is within a school setting, starting ASAP through June 5, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement adaptive physical education programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to support student physical development.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with school policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan teaching certificate.
• Endorsement in Physical Education and Special Education.
• Bachelors degree required.
• Experience working with elementary and middle school students preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Location:

• Ypsilanti, MI (within a community school environment).
