Other Related Functions • Demonstrates knowledge of patient rights, legal issues and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. • Practices efficient use of diabetes education materials, supplies and use of blood glucose monitors. • Practices safe and appropriate infection control techniques at all times. • Provides insulin pump training and initiation. • Participates in Process Improvement activities. • Participates in Critical Success Factor activities. Qualifications Education / Training Graduate from an approved school of nursing. Licensure / Certification - Maintains current RN license in the State of Florida. - Certified Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (renewed every five years) within two years of hire. Team Members hired into this job prior to June 6, 2019 must obtain Certification by May 31, 2020. - Maintains current BLS / HealthCare Provider Certification. Experience Three years of clinical experience required.
