Description :

Implements and monitors patient care plans.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

An RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, which is the first step in delivering nursing care.

Assessment includes not only physiological data but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
