Accounts Payable Specialist – Construction Industry (Temp to Hire | Santa Ana, CA)

We’re partnering with a well-established construction company that’s been in business for decades, handling large-scale commercial projects including retail centers, entertainment venues, casinos, and hotels. They’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with a solid background in construction accounting to join their Santa Ana team.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment and can jump right in without much hand-holding.

What You’ll Do :

Process high-volume accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently

Handle AIA billing, change orders, and subcontractor change orders

Manage preliminary notices and lien releases

Verify contractor licenses, insurance, and contract compliance

Ensure accuracy in sales tax application and reporting

Utilize Sage 300, Timberline, or Timberscan software for invoice routing, approvals, and data entry

Collaborate closely with the contract administration team and other departments

What We’re Looking For :

3–5 years of construction accounting or AP experience (required)

Proficiency with Sage 300 / Timberline / Timberscan or similar construction software

Understanding of AIA billing, lien releases, and contract compliance

Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a fast-paced workload

Comfortable in a family-owned, high-volume environment

Team-oriented and dependable (but not a “strong personality” that clashes with others)

Experience working in a smaller company where you’ve worn multiple hats is a plus
