Summary

Assistant teachers are responsible for assisting the classroom lead teacher with general supervision and management. They must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be able to relate well with children. This position is part time with very flexible hours. GREAT for a college student looking to gain some experience or build their resume while earning a wage! If a UWP education major there is a potential to earn college credits for an independent study towards gen eds. UWP psychology students have a potential to earn college credits through a cooperative field experience.

Duties

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher
• Supervise activities and ensure safety
• Provide input for bi-annual assessment of children's development
• Maintain daily open communication with families
• Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers and assist with toilet training
• Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom
