Advanced Health Services, LLC (AHS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Dental of Idaho, is an Idaho-based company providing information technology services and support for organizations in the healthcare industry. The Database / BI Developer will design and build databases and data models to support efficient data storage, processing, and analysis. This position will create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to deliver actionable business insights and support data-driven decision-making. This role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to define KPIs and ensure reporting aligns with business objectives, while maintaining data quality and integrity across sources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with Developers and other business stakeholders to design, develop, enhance and maintain reporting solutions.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations (Power BI and Crystal Reports).
  • Recommend application enhancements to automated repetitive tasks.
  • Execute ad hoc database queries and conduct data analysis and updates.
  • Monitor, support, and enhance our EDI, ETL and automated job processes to ensure accurate and timely execution.
  • Enhance automated data movement reconciliations increasing data accuracy and integrity
  • Perform database schema deployments to Testing, Stage and Production environments on a frequent basis.
  • Assist with implementation, enhancement, maintenance, and integrity of data warehouse solutions.
  • Develop and update technical documentation for data models, ETL processes, and BI solutions.
  • Improve processes and standards in partnership with the team to ensure cohesion and high-quality results.
  • Monitor and adapt to industry trends and best practices related to BI and ETL methodologies and technologies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s core values, code of ethics, and compliance / security standards.

    • Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • In-depth understanding of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems and ETL (extract, transform, load) frameworks.
  • Proven capability to interpret business requirements and develop technical .specifications and solutions aligned with the appropriate scope and complexity.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and incorporating AI to streamline and improve process flow.
  • Proven capability to operate with autonomy while delivering leadership in business intelligence, data analytics, and ETL areas.
  • Experience with online analytical processing (OLAP) preferred.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with a modern Reporting / BI platform (Power BI, Crystal Reports).
  • Experience with the following technologies preferred : SQL Server 2019 or newer, Power BI, Source control (e.g. Github AI), Atlassian JIRA, Crystal Reports 10, Snowflake.
