Folding Carton Windowing Equipment Operator A day in the life
It’s the start of your shift and the finishing line is yours. You dial in the windowing machine, thread the film, square the guides, and fine-tune glue application for perfect registration. As sheets become boxes, you watch adhesion, alignment, and film clarity—making real-time tweaks to keep quality high and throughput on target. You log counts, track downtime, minimize waste, and team up with feeders, packers, and quality to deliver every order on time.

What you’ll take on
- Set up and adjust high-speed windowing equipment for each job run.
- Load paperboard blanks and rolls of window film, aligning materials to spec.
- Calibrate glue systems and placement guides for precise registration.
- Perform in-run quality checks for registration, glue adhesion, and film placement.
- Run at target speeds while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Inspect for misaligned windows, glue overflow, scratches, or film wrinkles.
- Complete production / quality paperwork : counts, downtime, and waste.
- Collaborate with quality control and finishing teams to resolve issues quickly.
Care for the equipment and safety
Handle routine preventive maintenance : cleaning, lubrication, part changes.Troubleshoot minor mechanical and electrical issues to reduce downtime.Follow safety protocols at all times, including lockout / tagout, PPE, and housekeeping.Teamwork & communication
Coordinate with feeders, packers, and helpers to maximize efficiency.Communicate with supervisors regarding status, materials, and mechanics.Help train apprentices or new teammates as needed.What you bring
Hands-on experience running finishing / packaging machinery; folding carton or print / packaging background preferred.Mechanical aptitude for setups, adjustments, and light maintenance.Sharp attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to read job tickets, work orders, and specifications.Basic math and measurement proficiency.Bonus points
Direct experience on windowing machines.Knowledge of adhesives, films, and board substrates used in folding cartons.Forklift certification or safe material handling experience.Physical demands
Stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.Comfort working around noise, dust, and moving machinery.Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.Equal Opportunity
