The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist I to join our Enterprise Support Services Group within the Information Systems Division (ISD). This role is perfect for a skilled IT professional who thrives in customer support and enterprise service desk environments.

What Youll Do

  • Provide enterprise-wide customer and technical support services in a Help Desk / Service Desk environment.
  • Troubleshoot first- and second-tier desktop and mobile applications by identifying root causes and applying solutions.
  • Open and manage ServiceNow IT incident tickets (or similar IT service management systems).
  • Serve as a lead for Service Desk support, demonstrating expertise in desktop, hardware, software, and networking support.
  • Assist with training, documentation, and presentations related to Service Desk services and supported applications.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to accurately document solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to deliver timely results to internal customers.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other IT incident tracking software.
  • Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
  • At least one year of technical telephone support experience.
