Assistant/Associate Professor in Data Science

Job Description:

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking data scientists with expertise in Big Data Analytics/Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence/Statistical Modeling and/or High-Performance Data Analytics for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Successful candidates are expected to develop productive research programs, mentor and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to direct . dissertations in data science. Candidates with experience in industry and/or applied interdisciplinary research projects are encouraged to apply. Anticipated start date is fall 2026.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a . in statistical/mathematical data science or a related field, a strong record of research accomplishments and the capacity to secure extramural funding. Preference will be given to those with postdoctoral experience.
