Job Summary
- Seeking a Networking Systems Administrator responsible for monitoring infrastructure systems, applications, and processes, and for ensuring that all issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner
- The candidate will provide support for all infrastructure systems and will respond to hardware and software incidents and work with senior system administrators, at times remotely from other locations
Primary Responsibilities
Quickly responding to IT Help Desk calls and emails in a professional manner; ensuring issues are resolved and / or escalated to the appropriate teams; and following up with teams and users to ensure issues are satisfactorily remediatedIdentifying, troubleshooting, and correcting hardware and software issues including network connectivityUtilizing enterprise monitoring solutions to identify alarms that have been triggered against the various environmentsProactively contacting customers when infrastructure processes are significantly delayed or may impact their ability to complete a business function on timeExecuting the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAsInitiating IAVA responses and system security scans, completing remediation, and extending IAVA patches and security updates on various IT and network systemsProviding technical assistance to companion work groups in support of overlapping projects such as implementing IT enhancements and optimizing systemsMaintaining good inter-departmental relations, communicating with users, and publishing status of system outagesParticipating in the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation to ensure clear, concise and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolutionRequired Qualifications
Must have active Top Secret / SCI clearance with MD Full Scope PolygraphMust have at least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience providing assistance to users in an IT customer service capacityMust have at least 5 years of experience working on an IT / software program that utilizes complex equipment / systems (ex. Network Switches, Routers, LANs, & cabling, Windows / Linux operating systems, VMware, etc.)Must have experience installing, updating, and upgrading Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems (OS)Must have experience installing, maintaining, and / or working with Windows Domain Services.Must have experience installing, using, and maintaining Windows Domain Administration Utilities / ServicesMust have experience analyzing and implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements in Windows OSMust be proficient in creating, reading, and modifying Local and Domain Users / Groups in Windows OSMust have experience installing Windows OS Applications standalone or in Client / Server ArchitecturesMust be proficient in reading, analyzing, and troubleshooting errors within Windows OS.Must have experience with IT system optimization, monitoring, and technical set-up and troubleshootingMust have experience with Data Center design and configuration (e.g. rack and stack, power, placement, etc.)Must have experience gathering data for and documenting technical processes.Must have experience documenting IT issues and providing detailed and comprehensive status reports and follow-upsExperience with IAVA responses and remediation, system security scans, completing remediation, and extending IAVA patches and security updates on IT and network systemsMust be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control proceduresMust possess strong analytic abilities and must be meticulous and careful in their workMust be an independent thinker capable of working independently as well as within a teamMust be able to respond to emergency system administration, operations, and maintenance problems, on a limited as-needed on-call basisMust be able to travel up to 25% of the time to local program locations (not overnight)Additional travel to CONUS and OCONUS location(s) may also be required (overnight)Desired Qualifications
BS degree in a technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experienceExperience with security standards, software architectures, and Network security technologies (Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment, etc.)Experience building and deploying Virtual Machines within an On-Premises Data CenterExperience with scripting and / or automation toolsExperience reading, analyzing, and addressing security vulnerabilities discovered from automated scanning toolsExperience supporting a large, complex software configuration management and development programExperience working in an Agile Development Environment or on an Agile TeamExempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD / LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The pay range for this role is :
