Job Title : Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer Profession : Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer Specialty : Radiology Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 1 Year License : RDMS Certifications : RVT Must-Have : Competently performs general and vascular ultrasound exams. Description : The position involves working in a Radiology Ultrasound unit. The unit covers Emergency Room, Inpatient, and Outpatient services. There are four scheduled rooms available for procedures. The team consists of nine full-time staff and three on-call staff members. The unit operates 24 hours a day. Day shift includes five ultrasound and vascular techs. Night shift includes one ultrasound and vascular tech. Patient ratios will vary based on unit demand. The equipment used includes GE Logiq e9 and GE Logiq e10 systems. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are utilized in the unit. Procedures performed include abdominal, small parts, and obstetric / gynecological ultrasound exams. All vascular ultrasound procedures, including carotid, venous, arterial, and PVRs, are part of the role. An easy-going personality is preferred for this position. There is no on-call requirement; however, weekend night coverage is necessary.
