Lead Platform Engineer (Network Infrastructure)

Overview

Lead Platform Engineer (Network Infrastructure) at Capital One.

Responsibilities

• Network Design & Architecture – Plan and develop network infrastructure based on business needs. Create bill of materials and obtain quotes from vendors. Order and install network circuits.
• Installation & Configuration – Set up routers, SD-WAN routers, switches, Out of Band management, and other network equipment.
• Maintenance & Optimization – Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network efficiency.
• Security Management – Implement security measures to protect against threats.
• Support & Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Upgrades & Scalability – Keep networks updated with the latest technology and ensure they can scale as the organization grows.
• Work with technologies including LANs, WANs, SD-WANs, VPNs, cloud networking, and wireless networks. Automation and scripting are highly desired.
• Hardware brands include Cisco, Versa SD-WAN, Lantronix.
