Professor, Pediatric Faculty

Position Highlights :

The faculty member of the College of Nursing contributes to the mission of the college by integrating the roles of teacher, researcher / scholar / clinician, and leader. The details of the faculty's workload distribution will be negotiated with the Chairperson, based on the needs of the College of Nursing, as well as on candidate's expertise and interest. Workload is determined one year in advance and annual reviews are done based on college needs and / or faculty requests.

Position Responsibilities :

Education

Directs the learning of students in clinical and classroom settings.

Participates in the student advisement process.

Contributes to College and University student recruitment and marketing efforts.

Contributes to the development and evaluation of responsive curriculum.

Supports and facilitates a culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse educational environment.

Supports and, when appropriate, contributes to the Medical Center-wide interdisciplinary programs.

Clinical Practice, Research and Leadership

Generates grants and conducts research.

Applies research findings in own practice and teaching.

Facilitates research activities of students, colleagues, and members of related disciplines.

Disseminates research-based knowledge through publications and presentations.

Functions as an expert clinician in area(s) of specialization.

Supports continuous quality improvement in patient / client care.

Supports faculty practice through expression of clinical expertise via consultation, education, research or practice within and outside of the Medical Center.

Supports and facilitates the goals of Rush University, the college, and clinical setting.

Participates in departmental, and college strategic planning and decision-making, and evaluation.

Participates in and supports a faculty governance structure.

Supports and practices university / corporate team philosophy.

Supports a continuous quality improvement and cost-effective environment.

Supports cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity within the College of Nursing.

Participates in the College of Nursing Evaluation program.

Position Qualifications :

A Doctoral Degree in Nursing

Maintains National Certification as appropriate

At least two years of experience in clinical nursing practice

Current licensure in the State of Illinois. If working remotely, current RN licensure in home state of residence is required.
