Supervisor Early Program

Salary : $65,000-$70,000 per year

Report to Program Director

Supervises 3 family counselors and 1 case aide

I. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Supervise 3 full-time family counselors and 1 full-time case aide providing counseling and case management to 36 families, and facilitating groups and school-based activities across 4 schools in Sunset Park
  • Provide clinical and administrative guidance for work with families using a family systems perspective and a focus on increasing families economic stability
  • In coordination with the Program Director, embody a leadership presence, including providing the philosophical framework related to the CFL neighborhood-based, family-focused, social group work practice model
  • Co-plan and co-lead staff meetings and provide professional training workshops
  • Attend sessions with Family Counselors and families to collaborate and model for staff, including home visits, when needed
  • Directly manage crises and provide coverage for client care as needed
  • Coordinate staffs participation in school-based outreach and engagement activities
  • As part of the leadership team plan and support implementation of parent and childrens groups
  • Support the implementation of the Families and Schools Together (FAST) program, led by the School Outreach Liaison, including attending training and possibly co-facilitating groups
  • Manage effective collaboration between Family Counselors and the Benefits Specialist to ensure that all families are screened and enrolled in needed benefits
  • Help plan and contribute to school-based outreach and engagement activities to develop relationships with partner schools and families
  • Collaborate closely with CFL school-based programs (after school, Neighborhood Center, etc.)
  • Ensure supervisees complete required training and have professional development plans
  • Ensure proper and timely utilization of PROMIS and CONNECTIONS
  • Ensure all case record documentation is maintained and meets ACS and OCFS standards
  • Complete required documentation and data entry
  • Attend program staff meetings, supervision, school-based meetings, and trainings
  • Build relationships with community-based service providers and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with all CFL programs to ensure an integrated approach to serving families
  • Assume responsibility for special projects as needed

II. QUALIFICATIONS :

  • MSW or an equivalent human services graduate degree
  • License and prerequisites for supervising Masters degree level interns, preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin required
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • At least two years of relevant child welfare experience
  • Previous direct service work with families
  • Experience working in, or in partnership with, schools preferred
  • Groupwork skills and experience preferred
  • Possess a social justice perspective and ability to collaborate with culturally and socioeconomically diverse groups
  • III. RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS :

  • Build and maintain close, daily interactions with co-workers, supervisors, and school staff
  • Effectively communicate with agency staff, school staff, community partners, key stakeholders, and families
  • Excellent engagement skills, meeting families where they are at and forging mutual respect
  • Experience or interest in social group work
  • Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization
  • Committed to guiding, coaching, and professional development of staff
  • Possess a strong belief in peoples ability to grow and change
