Description

The agency is located at the George Herbert Walker Bush State Building located in the Capitol Complex at 1801 N. Congress Ave. Austin, TX 78701.

Introduction:This role plans and delivers professional learning programs, supports initiatives such as the Professional Learning Series and Tiny Takes and leads statewide coordination of the Academy Learning Community. Responsibilities include developing training resources, facilitating workshops and events, providing technical assistance, and collaborating with partners to strengthen college and career readiness efforts.

General Description:

The role of Implementation Coordinator will work as part of the Professional Learning and Engagement team within the Division of College and Career Advising at the (THECB) Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This position will lead the design, launch, and ongoing coordination of the Academy Learning Community state-wide, along with the planning and execution of the Professional Learning Series and supporting the Tiny Takes initiative. This position will also support additional college, career, and military readiness program initiatives and ongoing collaboration and development of training and professional learning materials related to college and career advising initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and leading professional learning sessions and events and creating implementation of resources that promote division of products and resources. Work involves strengthening the efforts of organizations in improving student college and career readiness outcomes by providing technical learning assistance, presentations, workshops, virtual and in person meetings, oral and written communications, and in-person events. This role will support tri-agency initiatives, partnerships and programs, and reports to the Director of Professional Learning and Engagement. This position is authorized for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees are required to work in the office three (3) days per week, with the remaining two days eligible for telework. Specific in-office days may be determined by the department to meet business needs.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

General duties and responsibilities encompass three main categories of focus: (1) Strategic implementation, (2) Program Operations, Delivery & Continuous Improvement (3) Stakeholder engagement & collaboration.

Strategic Implementation

·Lead the creation, launch and ongoing implementation of a new Texas OnCourse Academy Learning Community.

·Analyze previous network research and program reports to inform the strategy and development of the Academy Learning Community.

·Utilize technology platforms (e.g., Canvas) to build a repository of resources for community members: enable members to access, contribute, and share best practices related to college & career readiness.

·Host Q&A sessions with interested schools, develop slide decks, and partner with the Network Marketing Coordinator to establish a marketing and communications plan for the program.

·Create monthly themes and host discussion sessions for Academy Learning members.

·AdherestotheagencyStrategicPlan andcontributesideasrelatedtoinnovationandsystem enhancement.

·Develops, designs and implements professionaldevelopmentforstakeholderswithinexistingguidelinesandprocesses:contentreview, instructional design review, copy edit review, and within brand book guidelines.

Program Operations, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

·Provides support and training for existing and future programs related to College and Career Advising, focusing on My Texas Future, Direct Admissions, Texas OnCourse, ApplyTX, ADVi, financial aid, and other initiatives and tools.

·Oversee professional learning requests and conference participation: coordinate with Education Service Center (ESC) representatives as needed, create slide decks, and works with the Senior Implementation Coordinator to ensure sessions run smoothly.

·Supports delivery of CCA presentations, workshops, and learning events by collaboratively developing, preparing, and presenting while meeting professional standards and expectations.

·Develops the capacity of educators, school districts, and higher ed partners to implement CCA resources and other initiatives.

·Solicits and acts on feedback from professional learning participants and stakeholders to strengthen participant learning experiences and support a network of educators.

·Maintain tracking systems (e.g., Smartsheet) to document all session data: region, content requested, time involved, contact person, and other relevant details.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

·Cultivates and manages stakeholder relationships with Texas school districts, out-of-state contracts, Education Service Centers (ESC’s), higher education partnerships, and the tri-agencies (TEA and TWC).

·Works collaboratively with stakeholders and partner organizations to support professional learning series planning, execution and resource development.

·Travel is required approximately 10% of the time to on-site conferences and learning events.

·Performs other duties as assigned related to the Professional Learning and Engagement team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures affecting student college and career readiness.

·Knowledge and experience using best practices within the landscape of college and career advising, counseling, and readiness.

·Ability to maintain positivity in a team environment, deal comfortably with ambiguity, and work as a team player.

·Skilled in planning, setting appropriate goals and objectives, and carrying out work in a timely and effective manner following project timelines and tasks.

·Ability to meet periodic, milestone, and final deadlines; and to keep management abreast of issues.

·Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Zoom

·Online interactive applications, tools and plug-ins such as Padlet, Slido, and Menti.

·Effective public speaking in person and in virtual settings

·Ability to effectively present in person and virtually and conferences, training events and other professional development opportunities

·Actively contribute to a culture of innovation to set the Coordinating Board at the forefront of digital learning.

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

·Five years of full-time work experience in intermediate and secondary education or higher education, including:

·Experience working with one of the following programs: student success, college and career advising or counseling, and/or college and career readiness.

Preferred:

·Master’s or other postsecondary graduate degree in education, public policy, or related field from an accredited college or

·university

·Five to seven years of full-time work experience in public or higher education, including:

·Experience working with one of the following programs: student success, college and career advising or counseling, postsecondary/career advising, higher education or workforce education.
