| General Description | Seeking an energetic, compassionate, collaborative ELC Assistant Teacher who work with the Lead Teacher and with children in ranges of three to five years old. All responsibilities are to be in line with the Catholic mission of the Parish and school. To nurture children's social, spiritual, & academic development while fostering a Catholic environment of mutual respect and appreciation. Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development. Ensure the safety & well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs. Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., restroom use, cleaning up, and dressing). Be warm and nurturing with the children as well as being a positive role model for all care giving staff and children. Maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children. Communicate with the Lead Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care as well as classroom management. |
| Qualifications | High School Diploma or equivalent, ECE Initial Certificate (or working towards), ECE Short Certificate a plus, Early Childhood Experience, two professional references, and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices. Ability to perform the job responsibilities of this position. Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children. Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences. Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities. Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs. Have dependable transportation. |
| Condition of Employment | Passed background check in MERIT & VIRTUS. Be CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certification upon hire. Complete Child Care Basics (to be completed within 90 days of hire) and maintain 10-hour annual in-service training. Show proof of MMR immunization & Tuberculosis test. |

Salary: is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
Range: $22.00 - $23.00 Per Hour
