Job Title : Estimator - Commercial Construction

Location : In Office Murrieta, CA with periodic jobsite travel Position Type : Full-Time, Exempt

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm

Job Summary

Ready to build something bigger? Colorado West Construction is looking for a highly organized, proactive Estimator to support our team of construction professionals. If you're passionate about commercial construction and want to grow in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates that drive successful projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients. You'll help ensure our projects are not only profitable but also built to the highest standard. This role also requires occasional travel for site visits to gather project data and support accurate estimating.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze project requirements and determine key cost variables
  • Visit job sites to gather firsthand data (travel required)
  • Research labor, material, and production costs
  • Review vendor / subcontractor bids and negotiate competitive pricing
  • Perform risk analysis and prepare detailed estimate reports
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to support bidding and planning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers

What You Bring

Required :

  • 5+ years of Estimating experience in General Contracting required.
  • 3+ years experience in construction projects in the following industries : commercial, retail, grocery.
  • Ability to manage 2-3 project bids in at a time.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Must be willing to travel for occasional site visits
  • Reliable transportation and valid CA driver's license (required for site visits)
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs and safely navigate active construction sites, including walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing while wearing PPE.
  • Valid CA driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites, dependable transportation required.

    • Preferred :

  • Experience with BidMail, PlanGrid, BlueBeam, and Procore
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Science, or related field
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation

    • Compensation & Benefits

  • $95,000 - $130,000 annually DOE
