Description

• Assess patients across varying age groups, applying both standardized testing and observational assessments to understand their unique communication needs.
• Cultivate tailored treatment plans that address immediate objectives, while showcasing a clear path for improving communication, cognitive skills, and swallowing capabilities.
• Deliver engaging one-on-one therapy sessions focusing on areas such as speech clarity, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallow safety.
• Collaborate with a network of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers, weaving a cohesive tapestry of care that extends to families and caregivers.
• Educate patients and their families to ensure consistent progress outside the clinical environment.
• Occasionally assist in inpatient evaluations and therapies, guaranteeing comprehensive and continuous care throughout each individual's recovery process.
• Document patient progress and treatment plans diligently, adhering strictly to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in continual education opportunities to remain informed on the latest advancements within the field and foster collaborative discussions with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
