Description : This opportunity is for full time, 11 : 30am-8 : 00pm.

Under the supervision and direction of Pharmacy Director, Manager, Supervisor and / or Pharmacist, fills routine orders for unit doses and repackaged pharmaceuticals and performs inventory control and other related duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares solid and liquid medications for dispensing accurately and efficiently.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the dispensing system to facilitate the solution of problems.
• Processes refills as needed for individual patients efficiently.
• Labels all orders accurately including any auxiliary labels as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous typing and filing.
• Acquires age-appropriate knowledge and skills in relationship to new drugs and procedures necessary for the job assignments.
• Delivers medications and supplies safely and accurately to the nursing unit.
• Exchanges unit dose cassettes in a timely manner.
• Refills floor stock accurately and efficiently.
• Picks up discontinued and unused medications and processes them for credit in a timely manner.
• Fills premixed intravenous medications and solutions.
• Has a basic understanding of aseptic technique and demonstrates USP 797 competency via annual exam.
• Aseptically prepares intravenous solutions as ordered.
• Prepares TPN’s aseptically.
