Job Overview

KARE-TV, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN is searching for a News Anchor who can attract an audience through compelling presentations and produce high-quality journalism.

As an anchor at KARE , you will handle newscasts on linear television, front breaking news and streaming content on KARE 11+ . The candidate must have excellent interviewing and writing skills, communicate calmly and ad‑lib in breaking news or weather situations, collaborate with a co‑anchor and other team members, and, ideally, have experience field‑anchoring major events.

Our ideal candidate also knows how to utilize social media to engage our audience effectively, communicates stories authentically, demonstrates superior news judgment, and is forward‑thinking and innovative.

Responsibilities

Anchor multiple newscasts and digital livestreams.

Generate unique and compelling stories and show ideas around topics impacting the community.

Take a leadership role in newscast / digital content and production.

Represent KARE-TV and its community‑focused brand at station events, civic engagements, and other public appearances.

Collaborate with producers, reporters, photojournalists, managers, and other team members.

Engage on social media and apply best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

At least 10 years of reporting and anchoring experience.

Strong on‑camera delivery with the ability to ad‑lib.

Strong leadership qualities and prior experience motivating, engaging, and recognizing team members on multiple projects.

Passion for community involvement and building meaningful relationships.

Ability to coach and collaborate with teammates on content projects.

Sound news judgment and a proven track record of producing enterprise content.

Understanding and interest in utilizing social media platforms for content distribution and viewer engagement.

Pay Range

96.15 – $144.23 USD
