Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Waterjet Operator to lead our precision cutting operations. This role involves operating and maintaining waterjet cutting machines, interpreting technical drawings, ensuring quality control, and mentoring junior operators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain waterjet cutting machines to produce high-precision parts from various materials (e.g., metal, stone, composites).
• Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and technical drawings to set up jobs accurately.
• Select appropriate cutting parameters (pressure, speed, abrasive type) based on material and job specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of waterjet equipment.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Maintain detailed records of production runs, machine performance, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
• Train and mentor junior operators, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
• Monitor inventory of consumables (abrasives, nozzles, etc.) and coordinate reordering as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing or machining preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating waterjet cutting machinesthis is a must for the ideal candidate.
• At least 2 years in a senior or lead role within a machining or fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD files.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine setup.
• Familiarity with materials science and machining properties of metals, plastics, and composites.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
• Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
