Cath Lab Aide

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of Cath Lab Technologists, the Cath Lab Aide will assist the technologist in patient care. In addition, the Cath Lab Aide will assist with clerical, archiving images, clerical and transport duties.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Training and Experience:

1. Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.

2. Previous hospital experience is helpful, but not required.

Job Knowledge:

Telephone, transport equipment, PPE, various software programs specific to the job.

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

A. Required to lift and transfer patients for transportation and treatment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as push patients in wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers with accompanying medical devices.

B. Possible exposure to infectious diseases and radiation.

C. Required to work a variable work schedule.
