Estimator Mechanical/Sheetmetal Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical/Sheetmetal Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and resources for sheet metal projects, ensuring that proposals are competitive and profitable. This role involves collaborating with engineering and production teams to provide cost-effective solutions for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and other documents to identify project requirements and determine necessary materials and labor.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant information for preparing bids and proposals.
• Calculate labor, material, and overhead costs to establish budgetary targets for projects.
• Prepare and submit detailed estimates and proposals to clients in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update records of estimates and pricing databases for future reference.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for sheet metal projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
