This role is ideal for a technically strong leader with deep systems engineering experience who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving execution, and maintaining a high technical bar across complex space programs. You will partner closely with program management and cross-functional teams to deliver systems from concept through deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, thermal, systems)
Own system-level design, integration, verification, and validation for spacecraft and payloads
Partner with program management to define schedules, budgets, technical milestones, and resource plans
Drive engineering processes and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and configuration management standards
Collaborate with engineering, operations, product, and leadership teams to resolve technical challenges
Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of engineering staff
Prepare and present technical and organizational updates to leadership and stakeholders
Ensure technical execution aligns with program and mission objectives. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of spacecraft systems.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in a management or technical leadership role
Strong systems engineering background with hands-on experience in space systems design, build, integration, and deployment
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex technical programs
Experience with spacecraft integration, testing, and operational readiness
Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with Earth observation instruments or similar space systems
Familiarity with aerospace regulatory, compliance, and export control requirements
Knowledge of risk management, configuration control, and standard design review processes (PDR, CDR, etc.)
Hands-on experience supporting integration and test (I&T) campaigns
Experience working in fast-paced, growth-stage environments
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary : $170,000–$210,000 USD annually
