H2O Innovation is looking for a Lab Technician (water treatment, reverse osmosis membranes, ultrafiltration/microfiltration) who can work independently, demonstrate strong organizational skills, effectively manages multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and consistently maintains a professional and positive attitude toward team members. The Lab Technician will hold a full-time position at H2O Innovation Specialty Chemicals and Services division, located in Vista, CA.

The Day-to-Day

• Perform membrane (RO/NF, MF/UF) and filter dissections;
• Collect and analyse samples of membrane and foulants to identify chemical composition;
• Conduct various tests to evaluate membrane integrity and performance on lab-scale and full-scale membrane systems;
• Maintain database for sample reception and services completed;
• Box and palletize membrane elements for shipping;
• Perform cleaning studies to determine the efficacy of various cleaning solutions, salt/chemical solution mixing, and water analysis in a wet lab setting;
• Assist in writing and presenting technical documents;
• Support in other laboratory functions;
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment.

The Skills We Are Looking for

• Follow SOPs and safety guidelines
• Minimum of associate’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or similar is required
• Previous water/wet laboratory or chemical handling related experience (1-2 years) required
• Excellent hands-on skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Able to regularly lift up to 50lbs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data obtained from FTIR, SEM, EDX, and XPS techniques (preferred)
• Basic understanding of RO processes and membrane-based water treatment systems (preferred)
• Forklift certification (preferred)
