Job Summary

The Traveling Physical Therapist assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on evaluation results, which may include measurements of neuromuscular and skeletal functions. You will provide direct patient care, document findings and progress, assist senior therapists with program development, serve as a resource to staff, and provide training to students and interns. You will also oversee patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.

The PT Traveler will cover the following RSMI clinics :

Texas Medical Center

Memorial City

Sugar Land

The Woodlands

Shepherd Square

Cypress

Pearland

Travel stipend and mileage reimbursement available.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Bachelor's or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licenses / Certifications :

Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission.

Current Certification in Basic Life Support.

A physical therapist practicing direct access :

Education : Doctoral degree along with a residency or fellowship program, or

Licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence activities in differential diagnosis.

Licenses / Certifications :

Current license to practice Physical Therapy by Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or by the Physical Therapy Compact Commission.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills :

At least two years of clinical experience or completion of an accredited residency program.

Physical demands include occasional lifting of up to 75 / 100 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds, prolonged standing, frequent walking, stooping, and squatting.

Fine hand dexterity and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing are essential.

Visual ability to monitor equipment, recognize characters, and observe physical characteristics is necessary.

Principal Accountabilities

Take responsibility for patient care, performing thorough evaluations and creating comprehensive treatment plans based on findings.

Implement and manage advanced physical therapy treatment programs while assessing patients regularly to monitor their progress.

Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

Manage your time efficiently to ensure effective patient care.

Document all patient interactions and treatment progress accurately.

Mentor staff and students and engage in community education initiatives.

Pursue expertise in specialized treatment methods and patient population management.

Participate in departmental committees and contribute to discussions and objectives.

Present topics at meetings and contribute to professional literature.

Ensure safe practices for patients and staff and adhere to all operational policies and standards.

Support your professional growth through mandatory education and skills development.
