Key Responsibilities

Design develop test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL JCL and CICS

Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures

Perform batch and online application development and support

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Debug troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently

Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

Support system upgrades enhancements and migrations

Collaborate with business analysts QA and infrastructure teams

Maintain technical documentation and job schedules

Ensure application performance security and reliability

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or equivalent

8 years of experience in Mainframe application development

Strong hands-on experience with :

COBOL / COBOL II

JCL

DB2

CICS

Experience with VSAM TSO / ISPF

Knowledge of Endevor / Changeman / Panvalet or similar tools

Familiarity with batch processing and online transactions

Experience in production support and incident management

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with IMS / DL1

Knowledge of MQ Series

Exposure to Agile / SDLC methodologies

Banking insurance or financial domain experience

Mainframe modernization or migration projects
