Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our team in Gardena, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing payroll, supporting employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee hours, time-off requests, and compliance with wage laws.
• Administer employee benefits, including health plans and 401(k) enrollment, while acting as a liaison with insurance providers.
• Conduct onboarding activities such as background checks, drug screenings, and new employee orientations.
• Maintain accurate employee records and manage HRIS systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Monitor compliance with labor laws, including meal break regulations, and address violations effectively.
• Provide administrative support to HR operations, including managing correspondence and employee communications.
• Collaborate with management to support workplace safety initiatives and workers’ compensation documentation.
• Assist with employee relations, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Coordinate pre-employment processes and ensure adherence to federal and state guidelines.
• Perform additional HR-related tasks and administrative duties as needed.• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll or HR-related roles.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, such as Workforce Now or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
• Experience in managing payroll for a medium-sized workforce.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with onboarding processes, background checks, and benefits administration.
