Material Handler

JOB SUMMARY :

The Logistics Material Handler is responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the facility ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING :

• Safely operate forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper documentation and verification of materials received or shipped.
• Verify and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, documenting any discrepancies.
• Move raw materials and finished goods to designated storage areas or production lines using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
• Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity and packaging.
• Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure materials are stored according to company and safety standards.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or other tracking systems to record and update inventory transactions.
• Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect equipment and trailers before use, reporting any issues or necessary repairs.
• Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization inside and outside the facility.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
