What You'll Do

At Toole Design, our paid internship program is designed to give you real experience with meaningful work. Over a typical schedule of 8–12 weeks, you'll be fully embedded in project teams alongside planners, engineers, and landscape architects-contributing to active projects from day one. You might analyze survey data for a city's active transportation plan, evaluate conditions for people biking or walking along a corridor, prepare materials for public meetings, or help to develop graphics for a streetscape plan. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of project types and work products, receive company-wide trainings on core skills and best practices, and career mentorship from the best in the business. You'll get the opportunity to attend project meetings and site visits; grow your skills with graphic design programs in Adobe Suite and analysis platforms like ESRI and QGIS. And you'll do all of this with a passionate group of colleagues who love what they do – and want you to do the same.

We are targeting a salary range of $19 to $23 per hour for this position. Interns generally work 40 hours per week, four days in the office with the option to work from home on Fridays. All Toole Design offices are bikeable, walkable, and transit-friendly-just like the infrastructure we help design.
