Front End Developer

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Integrated Mission Systems Sector (IMS) in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Front End Developer for a mission application to be deployed in security-compliant cloud environments. You will be a core member of the development team in helping to define, develop and deploy this vital cloud service for use in the Department of Defense. This system is deployed through web services and Docker containers deployed to Kubernetes clusters. Candidate will have a strong passion and background in software development and making quality production software at all stages of the software lifecycle, and able to take ownership of project execution.

As a primary contributor to our project team, your responsibilities will include (1) defining and implementing incremental improvements to deploy our current weapon effects software architecture (2) supporting project / product management tasking as required.

This is a hybrid position with an expectation of 3 days in-office based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Additionally, you will contribute to the overall integration of the computational, analysis, and visualization capabilities of the system.

Your day-to-day tasks will include planning and executing the development of cloud-enabled web applications while helping to plan the evolution of the environment. In addition, activities include :

• Build great customer experiences by developing the web-UI front-end for a vital Department of Defense service.
• Grow technically by providing input and, at times, help develop the back-end system of this service.
• Collaborate with our customers, colleagues, and other ARA teams in defining and developing an integrated solution.
• Contribute to our high-engineering standards on the team through quality code and process consistency.
