Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $70, to $80, per year.
Job Responsibilities:
Process regular payroll cycles for employees across multiple office locations
Maintain accurate payroll records, including updates for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
Ensure payroll operations comply with current tax laws and employment regulations
Generate and distribute payroll summaries and reports for internal review
Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and benefit-related matters
Requirements:
Prior experience handling payroll functions in a multi-location or multi-state environment
Familiarity with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting such as W-2 forms
Ability to work collaboratively with HR and finance teams to ensure data accuracy
Strong attention to detail when managing sensitive employee and financial information
Proficiency with payroll software and systems used for processing and reporting
Qualifications:
A solid understanding of labor laws and payroll compliance standards
Excellent communication skills for addressing employee concerns and cross-team coordination
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively
Experience supporting audits or providing payroll documentation when requested
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data with minimal supervision
