We are looking for a Scientist – Pittsburgh, PA, US
As Scientist, you join the innovation group at Abound Bio. Successful candidates are independent and creative researchers, with a strong track record in experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting. This is your opportunity to contribute to an array of innovative, early-stage projects at the cutting edge of immuno-oncology research and discovery and development of antibody-based therapeutics.
Your role
Your primary responsibilities as Scientist will include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead projects; facilitate gathering of ideas and collective problem solving as well as coordination of deadlines and priorities
- Design and generate phage-display antibody libraries, independently or under the supervision of senior scientists
- Discover antibodies by panning and screening phage-display libraries
- Characterize antibody candidates by using biophysical, biochemical, immunological and cell-based bioassays
- Engineer antibody candidates by using various molecular cloning techniques
- Design, generate and characterize bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cells
- Elucidate the mechanisms underlying the anti-tumor activities of antibody candidates in vitro and in vivo
- Critically interpret experimental data, draw conclusions, present results and participate in discussion in regular lab meetings
- Help draft patent applications and manuscripts for publication
- Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
