\n - Position: Travel Med/Surg RN – Urology/Nephrology (Registered Nurse)\n
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100\n
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Nurse)\n
- Start Date: April 20, 2026\n
- End Date: July 20, 2026\n
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15)\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- Unit: Urology/Nephrology (MMC6120-5B) — 25-bed unit, average census 23\n
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n
- On-site Parking: Free with permit\n
- EMR: Cerner\n
\n\nTop Qualifications (Med/Surg RN, Urology/Nephrology)\n
\n - Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg nursing experience (including MS/Tele)\n
- Active Illinois RN license (in-hand or in application)\n
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)\n
- Previous charge nurse experience required\n
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting\n
- Cardiac monitoring & emergency response experience (Telemetry, Rapid Response)\n
- Genitourinary and renal case experience (pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, kidney transplant care)\n
- IV therapy & phlebotomy skills (blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC management, starting IVs)\n
- Medication experience (Heparin)\n
- Respiratory skills (chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, oral suctioning, portable oxygen management)\n
- Wound care and isolation precautions knowledge (Wound VAC experience a plus)\n
- Ability to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed\n
\n\nResponsibilities (Registered Nurse – Urology/Nephrology)\n
\n - Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with urology and nephrology diagnoses, including kidney transplant patients\n
- Manage complex surgical and medical cases: kidney stones, enlarged prostate, bladder surgeries, cancer, end-stage kidney disease\n
- Perform and manage specialty procedures: continuous bladder irrigation, difficult urinary catheter insertions, post-op kidney transplant care\n
- Administer IV therapies, blood products, and medications safely and accurately\n
- Monitor and respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies; participate in Rapid Response Teams\n
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and support continuity of care\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, PT, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Social Services\n
- Assist with patient discharge planning and readmission prevention efforts\n
- Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, and facility policies\n
