Position / Title : Temporary Assembler II (Cable & PDU Dept.)
Department : Production
Reports to : Production Supervisor
Primary Function :
Assemblers II are responsible for light mechanical and electrical assembly of LexTM3’s products. Among the Assembler II’s responsibilities are (1) reading drawing and electrical wiring diagrams, (2) cutting cable to meet product and customer requirements, (3) joining the components into a whole product using point to point wiring instructions, and (4) assembling and / or soldering electrical components as per the drawings. Must be trained in connectors & cable assemblies. Assemblers II are required to stand, bend and reach to perform they job.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Daily
- Read blue prints, job order traveler, and job order pick list and interpret shop drawings.
- Build to assembly standards in terms of quantity and quality.
- Use hand tools (i.e. soldering instruments, drills, saws, wrenches, etc).
- May conduct Mechanical and Electrical testing.
- Follow written and oral instructions.
- Perform hand and wrist assembly involving repetitive motion.
- Repair and rework assemblies as required.
- Work at different work stations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another during assembly process.
- Follow and adhere to all company and departmental procedures and policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment (may require sweeping, mopping, trash removal)
- Communicate with managers, peers, and subordinates on a routine basis.
- Timely and accurately complete documentation and electronically record work in Floor Manager.
- Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department.
- Successfully Train personnel in each of the required categories in their department.
- Use good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through.
- Provide input to help improve the performance of the department.
- Perform tasks while complying with company safety policies.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience :
High School DiplomaAbility to read blue prints, schematics, and other manufacturing information.Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.Ability to work in metric and English units of measure.Skilled in assembling products that meet quality standards.Prior experience assembling electrical or similar products preferred.Competence in safely and effectively using hand tools.Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills with the ability to team with others.Basic math skills in order to complete job tasks.Practical problem solving ability.Strong organization skills and attention to detail.Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment and work assignments.Abilities / skills required
Maintenance of a good attendance record in order to complete work assignments.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted throughout the day.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Benefits
