Job DescriptionMaintenance Technician - Water & Wastewater SystemsPay: $23.00 per hourJob Overview We are seeking a reliable
Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater treatment plants and lift stations. This role works under the direction of a Supervisor or Lead Mechanic and plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient system performance.
Key Responsibilities - Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at treatment plants and lift stations
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules
- Operate and maintain boom trucks, generators, trailers, and other maintenance vehicles within city limits
- Transport and operate trailer-mounted generators during power outages
- Record maintenance and repair activities in a computerized asset management system
- Perform backflow testing once certified
- Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors or lead mechanics
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and materials used
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including emergency response situations
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
Qualifications - Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- High School diploma or equivalent (trade school certification a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Willingness to work extended hours during emergencies when needed
