The Shop Floor Optimizer owns daily order release and short-term sequencing, ensuring production orders flow smoothly from planning into execution. This role operates at the operational horizon (daily / shift-level focus), releasing orders, preparing packets, and coordinating with shop floor teams to enable on time completion. The Shop Floor Optimizer is the last-mile owner, bridging the MPS with real-time plant realities (materials, labor, machine status).

Job Requirements

• Review production orders and release them to the shop floor once clear to build, following the defined release process at the plant
• Prepare and distribute order packets (routing sheets, traveler documents, work instructions, and quality paperwork)
• Monitor shop floor progress and update SAP with the order status from release of the production order to parts going to stock
• Communicate with supervisors to ensure schedule attainment and resolve real-time disruptions
• Escalate shortages, delays, or bottlenecks to Planners and Buyers
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce delays, improve schedule adherence, and simplify release process
• Monitor and release available inventory not processed by daily batch runs
