Job Summary:
The Image Management Coordinator is responsible for processing non-electronic health information images, including exporting, importing, and validating them for use throughout the organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, advanced computer skills, and knowledge of medical terminology and health information management policies. The coordinator works independently and collaboratively with internal and external contacts to ensure accurate and confidential handling of patient information.

Responsibilities:
- Safeguards and preserves the confidentiality of patient's protected health information.
- Ensures a safe patient environment and adherence to safety practices.
- Exports, imports, validates, and integrates non-electronic health information images into applications and databases.
- Merges multiple files into one and identifies discrepancies within electronic files.
- Transports non-electronic health information images from various shared media to designated applications and/or databases.
- Works with internal clinical areas to locate and retrieve missing records.
- Collaborates with external contacts to reconcile missing records and validate image receipt.
- Corrects misidentified images in applications.
- Answers unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Performs data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Documents patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Performs selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinates equipment/supply needs and reports malfunctions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2 years minimum of related acute care health information management experience, including working with electronic health records applications and/or databases.
- Experience with converting files to PDF, TIFF, or JPEG.
- Keyboarding skills.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.
- Advanced computer knowledge, including experience with multiple systems and Excel spreadsheets.
- Knowledgeable with PDF, TIFF, and JPEG files.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- RHIT/RHIA credential.
Special Considerations:
- Must be able to utilize correct body mechanics during performance of physical activity such as pushing/pulling, stooping, squatting, sitting, and lifting as applicable to the position.
Scheduling:
- AM shift, Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.
