Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 5x8 Days (Monday-Friday, in-person; no weekends or holidays)
Pay: $2,520/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

Travel RN Utilization Review needed for an in-person acute care role focused on clinical review and medical necessity determination. Schedule is weekday days only with no weekends or holidays. Candidate must be highly proficient in Epic and InterQual and have hands-on experience using both for utilization review workflows. Pre-approved time off is limited per contract. Modules are completed pre-start and annually.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform utilization review and medical necessity determinations
• Conduct concurrent and continued stay reviews
• Apply InterQual criteria for admission and level-of-care decisions
• Complete clinical documentation and review activities in Epic
• Support admission criteria and CMS-related review processes
• Assist with MOON notices and payer-related review requirements
• Collaborate with care teams and payers regarding authorizations and status reviews

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required in hand at submission (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year utilization review or related experience required
• High proficiency with Epic required
• Demonstrated InterQual experience required
• Acute hospital experience required
• Knowledge of CPT coding, billing, and medical necessity review preferred
• Two supervisor references required at submission
• No Nursys or background hits accepted
• Must meet RTO and compliance requirements at submission
