The Opportunity
We are recruiting a CPA Tax Manager to lead and grow the U.S. tax practice. This senior role blends technical expertise, leadership, and hands‑on involvement. You will work closely with firm partners, guide a growing team, and serve as a trusted point of contact for key clients.
This is a new position within the U.S. practice and will shape the long‑term structure and operations of the department. It is a strong fit for someone who is technically strong, self‑managed, reliable, and motivated to help build a practice during a period of planned growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee recurring reporting, client trackers, and deliverables with consistency and accuracy
- Manage and mentor tax staff, oversee task allocation, and maintain internal and client deadlines
- Lead and review individual, partnership, corporate (1120 / 1120‑S), and trust tax returns using Lacerte and QuickBooks Online
- Prepare and review projections and estimated payments
- Lead and review foreign informational filings including 5471, 5472, and related schedules
- Assess GILTI exposure and prepare foreign tax elections such as Section 962
- Review workpapers and schedules for individual and business returns with varying complexities
- Oversee preparation and review of Compilation Engagements and Reviews
- Partner with international colleagues on expat filings and U.S. compliance for foreign asset holders
- Serve as a primary contact for high‑value clients with clear and responsive communication
- Deliver strategic tax planning for real estate, high‑net‑worth, investment structures, and cross‑border matters
- Support business advisory projects, due diligence, and growth‑focused initiatives
- Represent clients in IRS and state tax audits and correspondence
Required Qualifications
Active CPA license (or in good standing)5+ years in public accounting with proven experience preparing and reviewing U.S. tax returnsStrong technical knowledge across individual, partnership, and corporate taxExperience with international tax compliance formsProficiency in Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, and Excel / Google SheetsExperience managing staff and complex workflowsPreferred Attributes
