About the role

A manufacturing business is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support day-to-day production for CNC machining centers and CNC lathe assembly. You'll drive lean / continuous improvement, support ISO 9001 standardization, and deliver hands-on solutions across CNC programming, routing development, assembly process improvement, and tooling / fixture design.

What you'll do

  • Assure product and process quality through testing methods, standards, and documented processes
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes across fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
  • Lead lean-driven production improvements and cost reduction projects through implementation
  • Facilitate continuous improvement using 5S, Standard Work, DMAIC, material flow, etc.
  • Coordinate new product releases from Product Engineering into Manufacturing (support or lead)
  • Coordinate and implement engineering changes across engineering, assembly, and quality
  • Develop / modify manufacturing methods and equipment; collaborate with equipment vendors
  • Improve efficiency via workflow analysis, space planning, and equipment / layout optimization
  • Maintain product / process database and support manufacturing documentation
  • Train and guide technicians to deliver improved outcomes

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (or related degree / experience)
  • 3+ years CAD / CAM experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Smartcam, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of CNC machine programming and core manufacturing processes
  • Strong leadership plus written / verbal communication
  • Project management capability
  • ERP knowledge preferred (ideally JD Edwards)
  • Six Sigma belt training preferred
