AV Design Engineer

M9 Solutions is seeking an AV Design Engineer to work on-site for a client located in Fayetteville, NC. An active TS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Creating Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials in CAD.
• Design and testing of complex videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls and matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) and A/V based collaboration technologies.
• Design of audio/video systems with Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems.
• Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support, including collecting and recording detailed operational, functional, and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and providing overall system costing for A/V projects.
• Design, test, and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems, including IP networks and ISDN networks.
• Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
• Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
• Develop test plans for complex AV control system functional acceptance tests of AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
• Develop and conduct on-site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline with 5+ years' OR Master's Degree in Engineering with 3+ years' of progressive experience in the following:
  • Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and implementation of complex projects.
  • Demonstrated experience performing technical cross-training/coaching of junior colleagues.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V, and electrical equipment, including related materials and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of videoconferencing standards.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience performing complex design/build and conceptual design practices.
• AutoCAD experience, or experience drafting with a similar drafting software.
• Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time.

Salary Range

$60,000-$180,000 USD
