Position Overview

The Environmental Services Specialist is responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation, and basic upkeep of our facility. This role includes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks, as well as basic monitoring of supplies and safety-related items. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• General Cleaning (Daily / Weekly / Monthly as needed)
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors using appropriate equipment
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, walls, glass, doors, and mirrors
• Maintain a clean and orderly appearance of offices, common areas, and hallways
• Restroom Maintenance (Bi-Weekly)
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, counters, and floors
• Restock essential supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
• Ensure restrooms are hygienic and presentable at all times
• Waste Management (Bi-Weekly or as Needed)
• Gather, empty, and dispose of trash and recycling in designated outdoor bins
• Ensure proper sorting and disposal of special waste when requested
• Keep waste and recycling areas clean and organized
• Inventory Management (Ongoing)
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Notify manager when orders for new supplies or equipment are needed
• Safety and Security (Ongoing / Monthly)
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Use cleaning chemicals and power equipment safely and as directed
• Report potential hazards, unsafe conditions, or major repair needs to your manager
• Lock doors and secure the building at the end of your shift if you are the last one on site
• Ensure all fire extinguishers are up to date and initial tags monthly to maintain OSHA compliance
• Exterior Maintenance (As Needed / Seasonal)
• Maintain entryways by blowing leaves and debris away from doors and walkways
• Vacuum entryway carpets and spot-check entry door glass for cleanliness
• In warmer seasons, water exterior flowers and plants as necessary
