Database / ETL Test Engineer

Position Summary

CHIA is seeking a skilled Database / ETL Test Engineer to work alongside our other talented test engineers and developers within CHIA's Data Operations and Technology (DOT) group. The tester's duties will include performing key testing functions in the data product release process. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with colleagues in DOT to design and create manual and automated tests to validate data sources, extraction of data, the application of transformation logic, and loading data into target tables in an Azure cloud database.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute test cases based on test strategy and test plans as defined by business requirement documents and ETL design documents.
• Test ETL processes and Data Warehouse components
• Execute backend data-driven tests
• Create strategies and test cases for data applications
• Provide guidance to other team members as needed
• Identify issues pertaining to data submissions or ETL transactions during the creation of data warehouses. Be able to discuss these issues with DBA's, assist with remediation strategies, and help devise timelines for correction
• Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
• Document all problems using CHIA's bug tracking tool and assist in their resolution.
• Test for continuity and integrity of data loaded from migrated ETL jobs and target DB System

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have : - A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.

Required Skills : - A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. - Senior SQL programmer with experience querying LARGE volumes (terabytes) of health data, medical claims, dental claims, pharmacy claims and / or eligibility data - Experience working with SQL Server, PostGresSQL, Snowflake, Talend Data Fabric and IBM DataStage.
