Job Description

We have Fiber I&R Technician positions in the Sussex NJ market and is full-time. The primary function is to install fiber optic internet services providing world class quality and product education for residential and commercial customers.

Role and Responsibilities for the Fiber I&R Technician

  • Installation maintenance and repairing of fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers.
  • Ensuring adequate performance of internet phone and if applicable television services
  • Complete pre-install work order and post-install service verification and customer education to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Place aerial or buried fiber optic drops and install interior and exterior wiring.
  • Must be able to mark proposed drop paths for jobs needing BSW.
  • Must be able to hand dig microduct from terminal to nid.
  • Observe all safety rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Work at heights by using / setting up various types of ladders.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Teamwork - Assist other technicians in the performance of their duties when requested.
  • Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the companys products and services to our customers.
  • Have an ability to adapt to new processes and new information frequently.
  • Use internal systems for work order notation and time keeping.
  • Install Fiber services over fiber optic facilities. Repairs to fiber optic services of existing customers
  • Keep customer appointments.
  • Maintain minimum acceptable metrics with Repeats Productivity and Completions.

    • Qualifications for the Fiber I&R Technician

  • Fiber optic internet and home phone service experience required.
  • Must satisfy company required tools and safety equipment checklist.
  • Must have own truck van or SUV with a ladder rack.
  • Must have own tools to perform the job.
  • Must have a fiber splicer.
  • Smartphone and Laptop (With Microsoft Excel) are required.
  • Lift up to 80lbs unassisted.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.
  • Must pass background check MVR screen and drug test.
  • Must be accountable and dependable.
  • Must have the ability to work overtime and on weekends depending on the needs of the customer.
  • Have an ability to take input from customers supervisors leads and co-workers to problem solve and improve skills.

    • Compensation

    We are looking for the best of the best for this long-term project. The pay is production based. Rates will be provided upon resume submission.
