ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs Visual inspection of investment castings to accept or reject as per specifications outlined in IMRS and processes parts per instructions on technique sheets in accordance with customer's inspection and acceptance criteria.

Selects work to be inspected per supervisor's instructions and processes parts as per technique / IMRS instructions.

Checks to make sure previous paperwork has been completed and signed off and ensures that paperwork matches parts to be inspected.

Completes all required paperwork.

Drafts techniques to assist Level III as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must pass eye exam with 20 / 25 Snellen in at least one eye.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in life experience.

Aerospace industry experience required.

Casting experience strongly preferred.

Visual Inspector II must have experience as metal worker bench operator preferred.

Performs inspections of casting grading parts surface quality and reworking any imperfections that do not conform to parts specific work instructions.

Training and Experience to meet the requirements of GSP QD‑006.

CERTIFICATIONS

Certified or qualified to be certified to NAS 410 Level II Visual Inspector.

Additional method certifications desired but not required : Borescope Inspection.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English / Spanish a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job are defined by NADCAP and include close vision, the ability to distinguish between colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to non‑toxic vapors or airborne particles.
