GI-IR Hybrid RN Job Summary: This is a unique hybrid position combining the responsibilities of a Registered Nurse in both GI and Interventional Radiology. The RN will primarily circulate in GI cases, with the potential to tech if experienced, and will also provide circulating and procedural sedation in IR. The role involves covering IR/procedural sedation in the mornings and GI cases in the afternoons. The RN may float to sister hospitals. Key Responsibilities: GI: Primarily function as a circulator; may tech for GI cases if experienced. IR: Circulating and providing procedural sedation. Patient monitoring and assessment during procedures. Administering medications and monitoring patient response. Managing airways during procedural sedation (certification required). Ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols. Documentation in Cerner EMR system. Participating in on-call rotation for GI coverage, as needed. Possible scope cleaning during weekend call shifts. Required Qualifications: RN (Registered Nurse) license in the state of California. Minimum of 1 year of experience. If IR focused, 1 year of IR, ICU, or ER experience. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications. Procedural Sedation certification to manage airways (must be obtained within hiring window, received during orientation). Successful completion of the Dys exam within 24-48 hours of acceptance (two attempts allowed). Preferred Qualifications: Strongly prefer knowledge of how to tech for GI cases. Experience teching for GI cases. Ability to clean scopes. Skills & Competencies: Proficient in circulating for GI and IR procedures. Competent in providing procedural sedation. Strong assessment and monitoring skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Cerner EMR system. Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices. Shift Details: 8-hour Days, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM On-call: GI coverage M-F 4p-8a, and Sat-Sun 7a to 8a (25hr) Licensing Requirements: RN (Registered Nurse) license in the state of California.
