Job Title : Coding Specialist (OBGYN)

Shift Schedule : Remote X, M-F. Client has set shifts / schedules for contractor to choose from. All morning starts.

Position Type : Temp to Hire

Equipment Provided : Candidate will be responsible for their own equipment

JOB SUMMARY :

Under direct supervision ensures charges are coded appropriately from the medical record as necessary and are entered into the billing system accurately. May code medical records for surgical practices utilizing ICD- / ICD CM diagnosis and CPT- coding conventions Assigns specified codes to medical diagnoses with some coding of specific clinical procedures.

JOB REQUIRMENTS :

• HS Diploma / GED
• Certification as a CPC or CCS-P required.
• Proficient in assigning and abstracting ICD CM and CPT codes from provider documentation.
• years' experience with coding OB / GYN professional services required.
• years' experience with coding OB / GYN surgical procedures in a Hospital setting for professional services preferred.
• Certified Obstetrics Gynecology Coder (COBGC) preferred.
• Three () years' experience in production coding in a surgical setting or in a physician practice environment required.
• Outpatient professional fee revenue cycle management experience preferred.
