Data Center Engineer (Walnut Creek)

Data Center Engineer Infrastructure, Virtualization & Automation

Location : Phoenix, AZ / Walnut Creek, CA (Relocation required prior to full-time conversion; other locations may be considered during contract phase)

Employment Type : Contract to Hire | On-site or Hybrid

Rate : $ 70-85 / hr

Required :

7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or data center operations.

Expertise with Cisco HX / UCS, VMware vSphere, Nutanix HCI, and Cohesity.

Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server platforms.

Hands-on experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.

Strong networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).

Scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

Proven ability to lead, communicate across teams, and deliver technical results.

Willingness to relocate to one of the designated offices prior to full-time hire.

Preferred :

Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Certifications : VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, Azure / AWS Associate.

Familiarity with ITIL, change management, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Prometheus).

Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
