CAD Technician - Junior Level

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Junior level CAD Technician to join our Oakland office. As part of the CAD Group, the CAD Technician will develop drawings using AutoCAD for use in planning, reports, and construction documents on Civil, Port, Maritime, and Infrastructure Engineering projects.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Transform initial rough designs and mark-ups into finished working documents
• Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations such as cargo terminals, marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls and coastal structures (beaches, revetments, breakwaters and jetties) as well as other civil engineering projects
• Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established standards
• Compute volumes of excavations and fill for dredging and earth-moving projects
• Assist designers and senior technicians with preparation of engineering drawing packages

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree; preferred

AutoCAD Civil 3D; preferred

Base salary range :

$35 to $42 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California markets.

Physical requirements :

Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period of time.

Travel required :

Travel not required. On occasion may travel to another office within 20 miles radius.
